Our physical being houses our spiritual being. Without this wonderful physicality we wouldn't have the ability to grow and express ourselves. As babies we come into the world loving everything, expressing ourselves freely. We don't arrive hating, disliking or denying any part of our physical selves. This is learnt behaviour.

Have you noticed that a consequence of holding a negative view of your body is how it blinds you to the beauty all around you?

When we believe there's beauty everywhere, in people, places and circumstances then we find it and embrace it. When we feel negativity about our bodies we feel bad. Those feelings are to remind us that we're going against ourselves and our own perfection.

Not loving our physicality is another way of denying our power and potential waiting to be realised. We can put the blame with others but the answer lies within us at the root of how we are relating to ourselves.

We can and are influenced and convinced into believing. We are unconscious of the power the media and other people have to lead us down blind alleys and into things that aren't good for us. Awareness arms us with the ability to say, "Yes" to what we want to believe about ourselves and how we want to live. It means learning to say "No" to the rest.

Do you know most of us are unclear of what we actually look like? What's real isn't what we see, because we are looking at ourselves through the totality of our belief system. For example, having a parent that has a weight issue can give you a perception of yourself completely at odds with the truth.

We think there's something to fix about our bodies, when fixing sends out a vibration of lack and that there's something wrong with us. We can realise the physical image we want by believing it's possible, knowing we deserve it and loving our bodies as if it's perfect in every way now. If you vibrate this type of energy the creative stuff of the Universe has to make it so, because it is.

STOP being determined to convince yourself or your friends and family that your body isn't okay, justifying constantly why this is so? This is asking for what you don't want on a grand scale!

You're a masterpiece being painted with each stroke of your thoughts and beliefs about yourself. I say, paint your masterpiece with love because your uniqueness is pure beauty and magic. It's YOU!

Airbrush Body Paint Contest

Airbrush Body Paint Contest

You should have a pretty good idea of what you would like to have done. It helps greatly if you have pictures or even sketches of your own for them to work with. It doesn't have to be perfect but keep in mind that if detail is missing from the picture and you don't know what should go there, the artistic license will be used to fill it in. That means you'll get their judgment and experience to solve the problem.

Generally, you will need to disassemble the parts to be painted from the bike or vehicle. Larger vehicles such as cars and trucks will need to have special arrangements made. Once you have communicated and have decided on a design for your project a price estimate will be given for the complete job.

However, many things can affect the estimate: proofs, prep work, body work (dent removal etc.), scratch repairs, sticker removal (If there is a sticker/decal that is under the clear coat it most likely will require the entire piece to be re-base coated.), primer/base coat (if required), Kandy colors, metal flakes, airbrush artwork (and it's complexity) and clear coats.

An artists usually has a working relationship with an established auto body shop that will perform the required coatings. Generally the art project will not be guaranteed if you do not follow through and allow the artist to have the finishing coats performed. He does not want to risk his time and your money airbrushing on a questionable repair and/or paint job.

Living Canvas Body Art Painting

Widely known types of body art are body painting, tattoos, shaping, scarification, branding and body piercing. Body painting is usually done by painting on the body, usually covering the whole body completely with water-soluble makeup or paints. Body painting is very similar to painting on canvas, however, it can be more difficult to accomplish as the body has contours that makes painting pictures and scenes on the body more complicated.

Tattoos, probably known by all, are permanent decorations on the body applied through the use of an electrically ran needle. Body tattoos usually cover a relatively small portion of the body. Favorite places for body tattoos are the chest, the upper arms, and the back of the shoulders. Body tattoos are relatively permanent, too, as the picture or the letters are etched onto the skin.

Body piercing is accomplished through the use of materials such as beads and precious stones and metals. Ear piercing is probably the most practiced by women and some men for accessorizing. Today, piercing is performed on almost all parts of the body such as the nose, the lips, the tongue, the eyebrows, the bellybutton, the nipples, and others. Shaping, on the other hand, is done to permanently shape the body according to a person's preference. Methods of this type of body art are foot binding - common among Chinese women.

Scarifications are more unconventional methods of body art. There are religious groups that deliberately scar their body (usually with pointed objects like knives) using a prescribed pattern. Somewhat similar to scarification, branding is another type of body art that involves a whole lot of pain. This was originally done to farm animals (cows and horses) and originally used for identification purposes. This is accomplished through placing an extremely hot piece of metal with a certain design on the body until it burns the skin and leaves a mark that may last forever.

Whatever form of body art is practiced, it is certain to elicit varying reactions. Body art can be beautiful, captivating, or disturbing depending on the beholder's point of view and set of values.

Mini Body Pinting Design

Mini Body Pinting Design

This festival takes place in Mainz, a city with over two thousand years of history. It is located on the river Rhine, has strong Celtic roots and may have been founded by the Romans as early as 13 BC. One can imagine that body painting has a long history here, if you remember the Celtic tradition of painting their bodies before going into battle. Once again, the artistic ability and range is stunning at this International festival.

Where: Mainz, Germany
Duration: Weekend festival
Events Include: Competitions include special effects and face painting
Artistic Range: Very stunning; high artistic skill.
Family Friendliness: Not known but again, it's in Europe. I would call ahead.

4. Welsh International Body Painting Festival
This festival is a bit younger and less established than the top 3, although it has some impressive artwork considering that they are just getting started. Also the atmosphere is more 'fun' orinted, less 'high art' and family participation is strongly encouraged. A good festival to consider if you want to make it a family outing and see some amazing work in the process.
Where: Wales (of course)
Duration: Two days
Events Include: Hands on demonstrations; horror specialists and flower specialists
Artistic Range: High, and impressive for a smaller sized event; not as subtle or creative as some of the others
Family Friendliness: Very good; in fact they encourage families and camping, with an 'all ages' atmosphere and events designed for younger participants

Arely Cordon Body Painting

started in October of 2008. Me and my fiance were planning our wedding and had to pay for it all on our own. We kept trying to come up with ideas. I saw the Halloween make up and it hit me, why don't I try this out. Before then, I had two jobs, and still do, I am a ride operator at Disneyland and I work for the Santa Ana Unified School District as a Clerk. I now have added jumper rentals to my business as well as balloon twisting. I have Mehron, Wolfe and Snazaroo paints. I tend to favor Wolfe because I love how it takes little water to activate it. I feel like I have more control with wolfe. I love to paint tigers and cheetah, its so simple but it never seems to amaze me how different and realistic the person looks once your done. I would be nowhere as a face painter without my lovely and patient 5 year old girl. Poor thing, when I first started she had mommy face painting her 5 different designs a day so that mommy could get the practice, she never once complained.
